RideCell, LLC. ("RideCell") is committed to protecting the privacy of your personal information. This Privacy Policy details certain policies implemented throughout our company governing RideCell's use of personally identifiable information about users of our Internet websites located at RideCell.com (collectively, the "Site(s)"), RideCell services and/or RideCell products (collectively, services and products are: "Product" or "Products"). By using or accessing RideCell, you are accepting the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
Using RideCell you can share travel information with your friends, neighbors, co-workers and people around you. We understand you may not want everyone in the world to have access to the travel information you share on RideCell; that is why we give you control of your information. You have control over who is permitted to view details about trips you are planning.
Privacy Policy Updates
Due to the Internet's rapidly evolving nature, RideCell may need to update this
Privacy Policy from time to time. If any change is unacceptable to you, you
shall cease using this Site(s) and the Products. If you do not cease using this
Site(s) and the Products, you will be deemed to have accepted the change.
Information Collection
When you visit RideCell, or use the Service, you provide us with three types of information: 1) personal information you knowingly choose to disclose that is collected by us, Web Site use information collected by us as you interact with our Web Site, and at times location information sent or retrieved from a mobile device associated with your account.
When you register with RideCell, you may provide us with certain personal information, such as your name, your email address, your telephone number, your address, your sex, your birth date credit card number and your billing address as well as any other personal or preference information that you provide to us. Contact and payment information that is necessary to administer your account will be stored on RideCell servers and linked to personally identifiable information.
When you use our Product, the Product may communicate to RideCell the location (latitude and longitude) of the Product that you are using. th real-time and historical information related to your use of the product may be stored on our servers and associated with the personal information that you have provided. is information may be used to optimize Product functionality, enhance security, and confirm usage for billing purposes.
We may track the total number of visitors to our Site(s), the number of visitors to each page of our Site(s), and the number of External Web Site (defined below) pages you have visited ("Aggregate Data").
Use of Information
The personal information RideCell collects is used primarily to provide transit matches, enhance security, and confirm usage for billing purposes. RideCell is about transit matching with others, friends and people in your communities, while providing you with ability to limit who can see your trip plans. We do not provide your contact information to anyone. All communication with other RideCell members is performed in a brokered manner where messages and telephone calls are forwarded between parties without either party needing to know the other party's contact information.
When you register with RideCell, you create your own profile. Your profile information may be displayed to anyone using RideCell. When you request or offer a ride through the service, you choose who has permission to view your trip information. During portions of the ride matching process, others may be able to see all of the trip information you submit. We may occasionally use your name and email address to send you notifications regarding trips that are being offered that we think you may find valuable.
Profile information is used by RideCell primarily to be presented back to and edited by you when you access the service and to be presented to others permitted to view that information. In addition, other RideCell members may post comments about you which will supplement your profile.
RideCell will send you only service-related announcements from time to time through the general operation of the service. For instance, if another RideCell user requests permission to join a trip you have posted, you may receive an email alerting you to that fact. u may opt-out of these communications, which are not promotional in nature. If you do not wish to receive them, you have the option to deactivate this feature in your profile.
RideCell may use information in your profile without identifying you as an individual to third parties. We do this for purposes such as aggregating and understanding better who is using the service.
When you use RideCell, you may post trip information, establish relationships, send messages, perform searches and queries, form groups, and transmit information through various channels. We collect this information so that we can provide you the service and offer personalized features. In most cases, we retain it so that, for instance, you can return to view prior messages you have sent or easily see your list of friends or people you have traveled with. When you update information, we usually keep a backup copy of the prior version for a reasonable period of time to enable reversion to the prior version of that information.
You post User Content (as defined in the RideCell Terms of Use) on the Site at your own risk. Although we allow you to limit who is permitted to view this content, please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable. We cannot control the actions of other Users with whom you may choose to share your travel plans and other information. Therefore, we cannot and do not guarantee that User Content you post on the Site will not be viewed by unauthorized persons. We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on the Site. You understand and acknowledge that, even after removal, copies of User Content may remain viewable in cached and archived pages or if other Users have copied or stored your User Content.
RideCell may also collect information about you from other sources, such as newspapers, blogs, instant messaging services, and other users of the RideCell service through the operation of the service (e.g., photo tags) in order to provide you with more useful information and a more personalized experience.
We may also use your personally identifiable information you submit to the Site(s) to contact you to deliver certain services or information you have requested, verify your authority to enter our Site(s), improve the content and general administration of the Site(s), services and Products, provide you with notices regarding goods, services and/or Products that you have purchased or may wish to purchase in the future and for targeted advertising.
The aggregate information extracted from the Aggregate Data will be maintained, used and disclosed in aggregate form only and will not contain personally identifiable information. We may use such aggregate information extracted from the Aggregate Data to analyze trends, improve the services and Products we provide to our users, administer the Site(s) and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use.
Any improper collection or misuse of information provided on RideCell is a violation of the RideCell Terms of Service and should be reported to info@RideCell.com.
Changing or Removing Information
Access and control over most personal information on RideCell is readily available through the website. RideCell users may modify or remove any of their profile information at any time by logging into their account. Individuals who wish to deactivate their RideCell account may also do so on the website. Removed information may persist in backup copies for a reasonable period of time but will not be generally available to members of RideCell.
Where you make use of the communication features of the service to share information with other individuals on RideCell, however, (e.g., comments about another member) you generally cannot remove such communications.
Disclosure of Information
We may provide your personally identifiable information and/or the aggregate
information to vendors and service agencies that we may engage to assist us in
providing our Products and services to you. For example, we may provide your
personally identifiable information to a credit card processing company to
process your payment.
We may provide information to service providers to help us bring you the services we offer. Specifically, we may use third parties to facilitate our business, such as to host the service at a co-location facility for servers, to send out email updates about RideCell, to remove repetitive information from our member lists, to process payments for products or services, or to provide search results or links. In connection with these offerings and business operations, our service providers may have access to your personal information for use for a limited time in connection with these business activities. Where we utilize third parties for the processing of any personal information, we implement reasonable contractual and technical protections limiting the use of that information to the RideCell-specified purposes.
We may be required to disclose user information pursuant to lawful requests, such as subpoenas or court orders, or in compliance with applicable laws. We do not reveal information until we have a good faith belief that an information request by law enforcement or private litigants meets applicable legal standards. Additionally, we may share account or other information when we believe it is necessary to comply with law, to protect our interests or property, to prevent fraud or other illegal activity perpetrated through the RideCell service or using the RideCell name, or to prevent imminent bodily harm. This may include sharing information with other companies, lawyers, agents or government agencies.
If the ownership of all or substantially all of the RideCell business, were to change, your user information may be transferred to the new owner so the service can continue operations. In any such transfer of information, your user information would remain subject to the promises made in any pre-existing Privacy Policy.
Cookies
We may use small text files called cookies to improve overall Product and
Site(s) experience. A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's hard drive
containing information about the user. Cookies generally do not permit us to
personally identify you.
Links to Third Party Sites
The Site(s) may provide links to other Web sites or resources over which
RideCell does not have control ("External Web Sites"). Such links do
not and further agree that RideCell is not responsible for the content of such
External Web Sites. Your use of External Web Sites is subject to the terms of
use and privacy policies located on the linked to External Web Sites.
Security
We may employ procedural and technological measures that are reasonably
designed to help protect your personally identifiable information from loss,
unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration or destruction. RideCell may use
password protection and take other physical security measures and place
internal restrictions on who within RideCell may access your data to help
prevent unauthorized access to your personally identifiable information.
Children Under Age 18
RideCell does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under the age of 18 or knowingly allow such persons to register. If you are under 18, please do not send any information about yourself to us, including your name, address, telephone number, or email address. No one under age 18 is allowed to provide any personal information to or on RideCell. In the event that we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under age 18 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information as quickly as possible.
